GCSE Results 2015


Outwood Academy Ripon report the best result in the history of the school! 80% of students achieved at least 5 A*-C grades in English, Maths, one other GCSE and two other equivalent subjects.

A staggering 91% of students passed maths at a C grade or above with 64% achieving A*-B grades. 98.5% of students achieved their expected levels of progress and 65% exceeded it.

English results were also outstanding with 81% attaining and A*-C grade and 83% achieving their expected levels of progress.

Sir Michael Wilkins, Academy Principal and Chief Executive of Outwood Grange Academies Trust, said he is "delighted with the leadership of the Executive Principal, Rob Tarn and the Principal, Angela Sweeten as students once again achieve outstanding results.  We are proud of our students and the support given by their parents/carers, all of the staff at the academy and the governors". 

Angela Sweeten, Principal, said “These are absolutely amazing results that put our students in a fantastic position for their future. They also demonstrate what can be accomplished when students, staff, governors and parents are fully committed to supporting academic achievement. The maths results of 91% are incredible and 100% of students also achieved an A*-C grade in Physics. A massive ‘well done’ to all of our students and a huge thank you to the staff, parents, governors and the Outwood Grange Academies Trust.

Students who performed particularly well were Rebecca Barrett who achieved an A for English and an A* for maths, alongside 4 other A/A* grades and 4 B grades. Sam Russell achieved a total of 6 A*/A grades including an A* in chemistry, physics and maths. Beth Wolfe achieved 4 A*/A grades and 5 B grades , Anna Horner, 11 A*/C grades including an A* in maths and A grades in Chemistry, Biology and Physics, Dan Hilary 5 A grades out of 11 A*-C grades and Jake Botting who achieved 4 A*/A out of 9 A*-C grades.
