Our Sixth-Form Students are making significant contributions to the life of the school and progress of younger students through their roles as mentors.
Peer mentoring in our Sixth-Form is highly effective in helping students to improve. Year 13 mentors have spoken very positively about supporting students in lower years and the unexpected benefits of immersing themselves in a role to help someone else. The role provides our Year 13 students with essential experience that they can use to help their University application. Some of our students have requested extra peer mentoring sessions as they provide such a great opportunity to develop skills which support their career choices.
We are very proud of the impact that our Peer Mentors are having on the Academy and after half term our Year 12 students will be taking part in a day's training before they begin assisting in lessons.
