Students from Outwood Academy Ripon, together with students from Ripon primary schools and Harrogate, Boroughbridge,York,Thirsk and Easingwold took part.
They performed routines to Christmas music and excerpts from two pantomimes - Bugsy Malone and the classic Peter Pan - to an audience of over 150 spectators. They were raising funds for St Michaels Hospice in the true Christmas spirit of giving.
An Ambassador from the board of British Gymnastics commented ," I was pleased to see so many gymnasts of all ages taking part in an ambitious show which they clearly enjoyed . I am also very impressed with the Young Leaders who supported the younger students with a commitment and dedication to the sport.”
She went on to say that the Young Leaders are a credit to the club and to the schools they attend.
Head Coach, Mandy Simpson, would like to thank all involved in making the event an overwhelming success. She gave special thanks to Outwood Academy Ripon for their very supportive partnership and to the local schools who host the School of Gymnastics’ after -school school clubs . She made particular mention of her gratitude to Mr Darren Dudman, Head Teacher at the Cathedral School, Mrs Kirsteen Dixon, teacher at Sharow School and Mr Tom Gaunt, Associate Assistant Principal at Outwood Academy Ripon, who were there to support their students for this event.
