Learning Centre

About The Learning Centre

The Learning Centre is a safe and welcoming learning environment for all students. We aim to provide a positive influence, through support and guidance, to ensure that every student can access the necessary resources to enable them to achieve their full potential and to ultimately reach their goals.

The Learning Centre provides an opportunity for students to read and research or study quietly, to access computers for their homework, and to borrow stimulating and enriching books. Many students use the facility after Academy hours for enrichment activities including homework club, origami club and lego club.

The introduction of the Accelerated Reading initiative has seen a sharp increase in the number of students accessing the Learning Centre and the amount of books loaned.

For staff, the Library can provide resources to support their students’ learning as well as offer a range of books for personal reading.

The Learning Centre Manager, Mrs Sue Mason has previously worked as a Learning Manager before taking on this new role in 2012 and has an excellent relationship with all of our students.

For further information contact the Learning Centre on (01765) 604564 extension 163.
